Singer Chris Brown was arrested today in Manchester on suspicion of assaulting a music producer in a London nightclub in 2023, British media reported.
London police confirmed to AFP, without naming the singer, that they arrested “a 36-year-old man at a hotel in Manchester early this morning around 2.00am on suspicion of assault and battery”.
The arrest “is connected to a case on February 19, 2023 at a building in Hanover Square”, in the elite London district of Mayfair, the police said.

According to the Sun tabloid, music producer Abby Dayev accuses Brown of throwing a bottle at his head at the Tape nightclub and hitting him while he was on the ground.
Brown, who began his career in the 2000s and has sold tens of millions of records worldwide, was on tour in the UK at the time.
He is due to embark on a new world tour next month, and a dozen concerts are planned in the UK in June and July.
Brown has had previous assault charges and was convicted of beating his then-girlfriend Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards, forcing her to miss the music industry’s annual gala.
In early 2025, he filed a lawsuit seeking $500 million in damages against Warner Bros., Discovery and other companies behind the documentary “Chris Brown: A History of Violence” aired in October 2024 on the “Investigation Discovery” channel.
