(ONLY HARD EASTERN TOUR) October 8, 2024
A real hardcore holiday is coming up in Dorćol Platz on 08.10.2024. because after a long time, the legendary Madball is coming to Serbia again as the main band in the Only The Hard – Eastern tour. The date in Belgrade and Serbia will be the only one on the territory of the former Yugoslavia, when and where this band with special guests will play on their concert as part of European tour. It is obvious that they love Serbia and that Serbia loves them because Madball together with the bands Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All and Pro-pain are certainly the most played band from the NYHC style that visited our country. Now it is perhaps even more interesting because after the departure of guitarist Brian “Mitts” Daniels in 2017, Freddy Cricien was left last year without one of the band’s trademarks, bassist Hoya, who was replaced by Brendan Porray, there are also Mike Gurnari on guitar and Mike Justin behind the drums, which is basically a new band that has not been seen in Serbia in that line-up, and it will be extremely interesting for all fans to see and hear live what Madball looks like today.
For those who don’t know, Madball is a hardcore band from New York, founded in 1988. The band’s line-up has had a lot of changes over the years, but it has always been structurally led by Freddy Cricien, the brother of Roger Miret from Agnostic Front. Madball is known for its energetic and aggressive style, which combines the best elements of hardcore and metal with roots in punk rock. The debut EP “Ball of Destruction” (1989), today considered an very rare release, was extremely influential on the hardcore scene, although when the unmutated Freddy sang it, he was only 12 years old. Further albums, such as “Set It Off” (1994) and “Demonstrating My Style” (1996), further cemented their reputation. With lyrics that often touch on themes of personal struggle, social issues and street life, reflecting the harsh New York environment that shaped their music, the band has maintained a strong fan base over the years as they continue to tour and constantly release new albums. Their lyrical themes often explore personal struggle, resilience and social issues, reflecting the band’s emotional depth and commitment to their message. Madball’s sound and influence are deeply rooted in the NY hardcore scene today, contributing to the evolution of the genre while staying true to its roots.
Their guests at the concert in Dorćol Platz in Belgrade on October 8, 2024. will be the Dutch band Born From Pain, known for their aggressive sound and intense live performances. Their key releases include albums like “Reclaiming the Crown” and “The New Future”, which were extremely well received for their brutal honesty and musical maturity, despite being a 2002 debut album and a 2012 album, and the fact that in between these 2 albums were 5 more editions.
Nasty is a German hardcore punk group known for their energetic performances, who quickly gained a following in the hardcore scene due to their aggressive sound and open lyrics, creating a raw and powerful musical experience.
Our Macedonian neighbors have always had interesting metal bands in the past, and Primitive Dread is certainly one of them. Although the youngest of them all, they have already become known for their aggressive style and dark, brutal music with their own unique influences, creating a sound that is both powerful and recognizable.
All that and much more awaits you as part of the Only The Hard – Eastern tour, in Dorćol Platz, Belgrade, on October 8, 2024.
The first contingent of pre-sale tickets, the so-called early birds were on sale from Monday, August 26 at all Gigstix outlets at a price of 2,500 rsd, (20e) the current pre-sale price is 3,500 rsd (30e), and on the day of the concert, if available, tickets will cost 4,000 rsd (35e).
