“Sound of a Train” is the first single from the band Close Enemies, by Tom Hamilton (Aerosmith)

It’s actually the first single from the upcominng album done by an extremely experienced team of veteran musicians led by Tom Hamilton, but also including Tony Brock, drummer (Babys, Rod Stewart), Peter Stroud – guitarist, (Sheryl Crow, Don Henley), Trace Foster and singer Chasen Hampton. Hamilton said that the material for the album was never easier and better recorded and the sublimation of the whole band was organic. “We were sitting in Peter’s basement and whether there is something in that room or something else, I don’t really know but…I had it in my head and told the guys the demo version of the song and everyone immediately started to bring out and add their own ideas about that song.

To get this amazing drum sound, we had to put up more microphones,” Hamilton said. The sound of guitar and bass has never been recorded faster, and I couldn’t believe that, but by the end of the day we had this beautiful song.” Trace Foster added that in that specific atmosphere it felt like friends hanging out and when we did all the songs and finished everything – our management thought we had already done a finished whole album and we just said we made a good demo recordings, and that we will re-record it all when time will come…

However, after hearing it so many times later, we thought why do we even need to re-record it and eventually gave up on it. Basically, all the songs you heard are just five guys in a room played even though they recorded the first one…

“Unlike the way bands released music in the ’70s and subsequent decades, when they had to release whole records, we’re only going to release singles this modern time,” Foster said. “We’re going to release the next songs in February and March, or we’re going to record a fourth single after that or we’re just going to release everything at some point, we’ll see….I think it’s all going to be more how we feeling.” All I know is that we worked very hard on all the material.” Foster noted that “there was a lot of blood, sweat and tears, so they don’t just want it to come and go. We just want people to enjoy it.” Close Enemies are currently on tour and recently played a sold out concert in Boston. They will finish the season with a gig at Daryl Hall’s club in Pawling, New York, and additional concert dates in Chicago and St. Louis…
